Rates, Policies & Procedures

Rates

Intake sessions are $160 and will be 90 minutes.
All subsequent sessions are $125 and will be 60 minutes.

All self-pay payments are due at the time of the counseling appointment. A debit or credit card is kept on file at all times, and is securely processed by our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

Rescheduling and Cancellations

To reschedule or cancel a session, please contact Sea Glass Counseling Services at (843) 929-7170 at least 24 hours prior. If you fail to timely cancel a scheduled appointment, we cannot use this time for another client. Therefore, a full session fee will be charged for missed appointments or cancellations with less than a 24-hour notice unless it is due to a sudden illness or an emergency.

If you arrive late to a session, the session will still end at the scheduled time.

Emergency Procedure

Sea Glass Counseling Services is not an emergency medical office. In the event of an emergency, clients should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. In the event of a mental health crisis, clients can call the SC Department of Mental Health’s Mobile Crisis Team Hotline at (833) 364-2274 and/or the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.

We are Private Pay Only

Sea Glass Counseling Services is not currently in-network with any insurance panels. All payments are private pay. However, our therapist is happy to provide documentation for clients seeking reimbursement directly from their insurance carrier.

Private Pay Benefits

Simplicity – Private pay streamlines access to therapy without navigating insurance plan coverage.

Continuation of care – Client can continue working with their provider at their agreed upon rate regardless of their insurance situation due to job changes and/or retirement.

More freedom – Without the confines of insurance network rules, clients have the flexibility to find the therapist that best fits their needs as well as customize their treatment plans (i.e., incorporate different modalities or adjusting number of sessions based on individual needs).

Privacy – With private pay, the therapist is not obligated to report diagnoses and other sensitive information to the client’s insurance company; better ensuring locked down confidentiality.
